In the mid-70’s Kaaren Ragland was asked to join THE SUPREMES led by Mary Wilson with Karen Jackson. At the time the group’s “20 Golden Greats” compilation, a U.K. only release (now avail. worldwide) album (Motown/ EMI) was climbing the U.K. BBC Radio 1 chart. It went on to sell millions, remaining on the chart for many weeks, incl. 3 weeks in the #1 slot.
When original “SUPREME” Mary Wilson chose to pursue a solo career in the late ‘80’s, Kaaren and two former group members decided to continue THE SUPREMES’ rich musical legacy with a spin-off The Sounds of The Supremes.
100’s of concerts in more than 70+ countries leaves The Sounds of The Supremes as the only female trio with their roots in the original lineup still singing all of THE SUPREMES’ many hit songs live today.
